Peverel Property Management support recommendations of ‘Residential Leasehold Service Charges in London’ Report
The Planning & Housing Committee of the London Assembly set out last year to undertake a review that would “Understand the nature of service charges in London, how they are calculated, charged and administered by landlords, and paid for by leaseholders”. Their Report has now been published.
As an industry leader committed to transparency and greater regulation, Peverel Property Management (PPM), of which OM Property Management Limited is a part, contributed to this review which makes a number of recommendations for both public and private sector residential management.
PPM fully support the aims of the London Assembly review and the overall direction of the report’s recommendations.
Our aim is to be actively involved in both RICS and ARMA’s work and response to improve best practice, regulation and transparency in the private leasehold residential sector. In particular we strongly support the report’s recommendations for a government backed mediation service as the most effective route for dispute resolution as well as making improvements to the LVT process on behalf of leaseholders.
