The trade body in England & Wales representing over 200 managing agents, ARMA focuses exclusively on matters relating to the management of residential leasehold property, whether for resident management companies or investor freeholders.

LEASE (The Leasehold Advisory Service)

The Leasehold Advisory Service is an Executive Non Departmental Public Body funded by Government to provide free advice on the law affecting residential leasehold and commonhold property in England and Wales. They also offer a mediation service.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The Citizens Advice Bureau provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to help people resolve both legal and financial problems.

Surveyors Ombudsman Service (SOS)

The Surveyors Ombudsman Service, approved by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), was set up in 2008 to sort out complaints about Chartered Surveying Firms, Surveyors, and Estate Agents from consumers using their services. From December 2009 complaints about Managing Agents, who are members of ARMA, can also be submitted to SOS if a dispute is not resolved within 8 weeks from activation of a Managing Agent’s complaints procedure.

They provide a free and independent service. Their job is to investigate complaints fairly by listening to both sides of the story and reviewing the facts of the case.
